Terms OF Service
No Liability Glencadia Dog Camp accepts no liability for anything that happens to your dog while boarding or in transit to and from the camp. By making this reservation you are waiving all rights to pursue legal action. Payments Reservations should be paid as follows: half of the amount due is to be paid upon making a reservation, and another half is to be paid when the boarding begins. Cancelations Cancel more then 48 hours prior to reservation: 100% of your deposit added as a credit to your Glencadia account or 80% cash refund (1/2 of the total cost) less $50 registration fee Cancel less the 48 hours of reservation: Deposits are not refunded for last-minute cancellations but 100% of your deposit can be used as credit to your Glencadia account less $50 registration fee How to cancel: Contact Glencadia to inform us of a cancelation. Do not contact your credit card company or PayPal to request a chargeback. Cancelation requests must be made prior to the beginning of a reservation and refund requests shall be completed with 30 days of notice of cancellation. Vaccines All dogs must have current rabies and bordatella (kennel cough). Distemper and canine influenza are recommended. Changes to Reservation If you extend your reservation after your dog is already at camp, the rate of stay will be calculated as if the extra days were a new reservation (without a reservation fee). If you shorten your reservation while your dog is at camp, there is no refunds and the amount due as is as per the original booking. Medicine If you give me medicine, please try to give us only as much as your dog will need while at camp. There is a $25 per reservation fee for medicine. Clearly label container with the name of the medicine, the name of the dog, and the instructions for giving the medicine. You should also put this information into your reservation in the comments field. Please read and understand this blog post: https://www.glencadia.com/meds/ Dog Food We prefer to feed all the dogs our high quality food. However, if you prefer to send your own dog food, we will accept it. Make sure that the food is clearly labeled with your dog’s name. Time Sidewalk pick up/delivery on Monday and Thursday evening is included with the free van delivery option. Times are estimates. Dog Stuff Please do not send harnesses, choke or metal collars, bowls, or any other dog gear you would like returned. We have everything we need in terms of dog supplies and do not have a system for tracking and returning customer items. Do not send us stuff and then ask for it back. Terms and Conditions You must agree to Glencadia Dog Camp terms and conditions. The venue for any legal action stemming from these terms and conditions is Columbia County, New York. Dog Photography Images of all dogs at camp are regularly posted online and freely shared. Glencadia owns the copyright to photos taken by our staff and unless otherwise agreed, dog owners agree to give us permission to take and share videos and photos of all dogs. Individual Boarding If your dog cannot be left with other dogs at all, please let us know. Vet Bills Customer responsible for vet bills regardless of cause of vet visit unless covered by Glencadia insurance. Privacy We do not sell or otherwise monetize our database or your information. We do not share your contact information or details about you or your dog without permission. By publishing false or grossly misleading information or violating any other provision of these terms, clients void the aforementioned provisions as to the sharing of information. No Aggressive Dogs Routinely or habitually aggressive dogs are not allowed at Glencadia Dog Camp. If your dog has aggression issue, you must tell us about his or her behavioral issues. Payments are Final Payments are Final. All credit card charges and other forms of electronic payments are final and there will be no chargebacks. This agreement means internal charge dispute procedures of financial institutions do not pertain. Disputes as to quality of service are not available for this transaction via the chargeback mechanism and any dispute in terms of payments may only be settled as per the conditions above consistent with the law in the Town of Stuyvesant Columbia County, and New York State as determined in a court of law. Definition of Boarding Boarding means we housed the dog. If we housed the dog for more than eight hours or transported the dog in the van for any distance, we have housed the dog as per the definition and a stay has occurred. Any claim that the instant or any boarding arrangement was "not as described" would indicate by definition that no boarding has occurred, as no other definition or description of boarding pertains in this binding agreement. Definition of Negligance The standard of gross negligence is under New York State law and by common agreement here Sommer v. Federal Signal Corp., 79 N.Y.2d 540, 554 (1992). Scheduled Van Terms If you are using our scheduled dog delivery van (usually Monday/Thursday), you must confirm receipt of your ETA by text (SMS) by 2PM EST on drive day. A responsible person who understands the assignment must be within 5 minutes of where the dog is one hour before and after the ETA in the confirmation text with a monitored, text-enabled phone ready to meet the van at the curb/sidewalk within a few minutes of the van's arrival at a pullover spot close to the designated address in the confirmation text. You must read and understand this blog post: https://www.glencadia.com/thefreevan/ Visiting the Camp Customers can come to the gate to drop off or pick up dogs Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM and Monday, Thursday and Saturday from 9 AM to noon. If you would like a tour of the facility, please schedule a time between 11 AM and 3 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday or from 10 AM to noon on Saturday. Tours are booked separately in 15-minute intervals (and you can pick up or drop off a dog while doing a tour). Emergency Vet Care In the event of an emergency, should we not be able to contact you immediately, you, the owner hereby authorize Glencadia personnel to make medical decisions until we can be in communication. Social Boarding The philosophy of this model of dog boarding is that the benefits of a social setting and open space outweigh the increased risk of a fight. Delivery Response If you are using the free delivery van, you need to confirm your ETA by text in the morning we're coming to you. A responsible person needs to have a text-enabled phone and be available for the entire delivery period from 5 PM onwards. If we can't communicate or have to wait a long time, the driver may well leave and not come back that night. This could be inconvenient for you if you're traveling and will involve additional fees on the return so stay in touch by text and don't leave the driver hanging around. Emergency Release By reserving at Glencadia you are authorizing Glencadia staff to make decisions about medical care, including authorizing a light sedative or a full anesthetic as deemed necessary by a Glencadia representative and licensed veterinarian. Voice Recall If your dog is a determined escape artist, please do not send him/her to camp. While we have fencing around the whole property, in many cases double fencing, a dog who is determined to find a way to slip out may succeed if allowed to play in group. Such dogs run much higher risks of escape. Dogs must be trained to generally come to their owners (if not other people as well) when called. Reservations Details are Final Please ask about billing issues early in the process. We reserve the right to reject any changes to the cost of a dog stay at Glencadia after the reservation has already occurred.
