Thanksgiving 2022

Thanksgiving is a busy time at Glencadia Dog Camp and we will fill up. Because we will need to offer the van service on several nights, we don’t want price to get in the way of our need to adjust the capacity on each trip to the city. There is a screenshot of the drive calendar for November below. Red days are free van trips to the city. Obviously, there will be no van on Thanksgiving day.

Because we are prepping vans and taking a lot of dogs out to the fields, we will have limited access for people to come to camp. Please note the hours below. If your stay includes a visit to camp during our limited open hours this will make no difference to the flat fee – the price will remain the same. We prefer to pick up with van during busy seasons especially, as people appearing at the gate can cause a big dog commotion, depending on where the dogs are when you arrive – and we can’t know where they will be in advance.

So, there will be a flat rate charge for the week of Thanksgiving of $370 ($350 charge plus $20 sales tax) for dog boarding. This fee is the complete charge, including service fee, pick up, tax, and nightly stay at camp. The days for pick up and drop off are below. If you live in our coverage area, we will pick up your dog on any one of the three pick-up nights, then drop off your dog on any one of the three drop-off nights, and the fee will be the same. For example, a stay from 11/21 to 12/1 will cost $370, as would a stay from 11/23 to 11/28. There is some irrationality to this solution but a flat rate seemed less arbitrary than the other options I could devise, as most people want the minimum number of nights but we need to spread the pick-up and drop-off over several nights because of our limited number of drivers or vehicles.

You can also have us pick up or drop off your dog on any one of these dates but chose a different return date and you will incur the regular fees published on the site. For example, if we pick up your dog on 11/23 but drop off your dog on 12/5, the fee would be at the regular nightly rate.

All van trips will work as usual: ETA in the morning, pick up between about 5:30 PM and 9:30 PM.

• Tuesday November 22, (open 10 AM to noon)
• Wednesday November 23, (open 10 AM to noon)

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from November 24 to November 28 – closed to visitors

DROP OFF VAN TRIPS COVERED BY FLAT FEE

• Monday November 28, (open 10 AM to noon)
• Tuesday November 29, (open 10 AM to noon)
• Thursday December 1, (open 10 AM to noon)

Any days not listed above will be considered normal days as per our website hours.
