Visiting Glencadia

We get a lot of requests for a tour or to visit camp before booking a reservation for a new dog camper. This makes a lot of sense and our general impulse is to welcome people in and show them around – we’re pretty proud of the operation and think this is a great place for dog vacations.

However, here are the considerations you should keep in mind as we try to arrange a tour:

  1. Camp is far from NYC. If you drive 2.5 hours one way to get here, and can only spend a short time looking around, you’ll be disappointed with how you spent your day. If you are coming from far away, I recommend making a day of it: Olana, Hudson, Art Omi, Ooms Pond, Chatham… lots of places to visit.
  2. Hours are: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM and Monday, Thursday and Saturday from 9 AM to noon. These are the drop off/pick up hours. Tours are booked separately in 15 minute intervals.
  3. As Will, the owner, and his family live on the same property as the dog camp so our hours for visits and booking are limited. We also offer the free pick up and drop off van – so that we try not to have many customers coming and going. Tours have to be booked separately.

Hopefully this helps you figure out when and how you might visit camp.
